Hi all,
I've established that it is Norton Anotvirus's AutoProtect facility that is leaving temp files in my root folder (C:\)
It looks like it makes a copy of every single file that it scans... emails, word docs, excel docs etc. It simply renames them using a sequential naming convention (ie: s164.4n4, s164.4n5, s164.4n6 .... s165.aa etc.)
At the end of a day there can be thousands of files added to the list... I've not cleared this out in a while and it's now taking up about 250MB worth of files space - but the actual irritation is the time it takes for any program that has a browse facility... it takes ages to open the root folder, since it's building the list of files.
Any idea on how to stop this?
Thanks!
Janneman
