I feel stupid asking this question since it should be easy to figure out. I have Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition version 8.0 installed on several standalone (unmanaged) servers. As the local administrator, I've scheduled daily scans on them - unfortunately, they do not run.

I read somewhere that, unless the user that set them up is logged in, they will not run. My question is how to set up a scheduled scan that will run whether the user that set it up is logged in or not.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I can't see why Symantec would create a product that would run this way, but how about to begin with make sure that the Symantec AntiVirus Client service is running under an account with local admin rights.

Cheers
