We recently installed Symantec (Norton) Antivirus Corporate Edition v7.0. We will be using the Symantec System Center Console to install and deliver the application and schedule virus updates to all of our Windows NT 4/ SP5 workstations. It works really well except for one problem.

Our users do not have Local Administrator rights. Although we can remotely and seamlessly install everything, the users will get a systems restiction message at boot-up until we log onto the machine just once as an administrator.

I suspect this is due to a service being started on the pc.

Any suggestions?

If you know the service requiring admin/system privileges you can modify the service to logon with an account with appropriate privileges.
