after about 5 minutes of scaning my computer. I have gone online to run a scan and everything come out OK, however when I run the scan from my computer it always quits before it is done.

Help

Do you receive an error message? What exactly happens? Without knowing what it does, I can only suggest reloading Norton.

Matt J.

No error message. The program just shuts down. NAV 2002 did the same thing on my computer the last couple of months. I assumed the new program would fix that.

So the program exits, or it freezes? Try running a scan in safe mode, let me know what happens. Could be a virus trying to shut norton off.

Matt J.

It does work in safe mode. It also works off of Norton's site. Both ways it says I am clean.

So safe mode works, and the system is clean. You've reinstalled with the latest version...

Suspect background application conflicting. Run msconfig and disable all other background applications from the startup tab. Reboot and scan. If it works, reenable them one at a time until you've found the culprit. Also turn off the auto liveupdate, you can throw an icon in the shortup to luall.exe, so it runs on bootup. If you append -s to the end of it, it will run silently.
