Norton Antivirus 2002 and a win xp network

I have two computers networked together with one connected to a broadband modem. Both machines can access the internet fine until i install norton antivrus on the gateway computer. This stops the second machine from any network access. Any one outthere help me on this?

Are you sure you're not installing Norton Internet Security or Personal Firewall? Are you using a router or ICS?

no, its definitely antivirus. I i have managed to solve the problem now
