I am trying to remove a virus from a computer running Windows 98 for a friend, using Norton 2003, and I keep getting this box:
cannot find sirC32.exe file, This file is needed for opening files of type "Application".
It won't even let me in, in Safe Mode. I could really use some help, any info would be great.....

You'll need to do this manually:

1) Click START|RUN, type

COMMAND /C COPY %WINDIR%\REGEDIT.EXE %WINDIR%\REGEDIT.COM
and hit ENTER
2) Click START | RUN, type regedit.com and hit ENTER
3) Remove references to the virus from this registry key
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command\
It should contain only the value (not including brackets) : ["%1" %*]
4) Delete the following registry keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
RunServices\Driver32
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Sircam
AVChap
... take my advice, I don't use it anyway!
