North American Ring Pattern

I have a BCM400 installed that has European ring patterns and line setting menus. How do we change the system to the proper North American ring pattern?

You'd have to load a different MSC profile on the system. Prepare to lose programming. Can't restore between different profiles.

The NA profile is Etiquette.

Can you point me to the section where we would load the MSC profile, and if we do a back-up will we be able to restore that back-up with the new profile? If not is there a paper report that will log all programming?

Telnet to the BCM or connect via serial cable. Log in, select option 1 from the menu. Select option 2. Select the profile you want (probably 1 for US/NA).

Backup/restore won't work - different MSC profile.

There have been posts regarding how to pull a system inventory into a XML file. It's not the easiest file to read in my opinion. Depending on the size of the system, it might be easier to make notes of ports, extensions and line assignments and rebuild from those.

Changed the MSC profile last night and updated with new patches.

Everything is working again and we have the proper ring patterns.

Lost set programming and some line programming, but all of the system programming stayed as did the voicemail and auto-attendant.
