Hi

- How can I make the VPN Nortel box disconnect a user automatically when he has reached his usage limit.?
- Is there a way to configure the Nortel VPN box to limit the usage of a user to a defined limit per day or per hour.?

Some suggestions:

You can set predetermined times during which you can permit a group of users access. You might have to create a seperate group for this user. On the switch look at /profiles/groups/hours. Once you have that setup apply the rule you define to whatever group by going to /profiles/groups/. Look under the connectivity section and you will see access hours section. This is where you apply the filter you created.

You ask about disconnecting a user once they hit there limit. Are you talking about traffic limits. You can enable bandwith management (needs license key) to limit a groups maximum bandwith. I don't think there is a way to disconnect a user once they transmit a certain amount of data. Is this what you are looking for? Let me know if this helps.

In my last post I wrote "On the switch look at /profiles/groups/hours." THIS IS WRONG. Look at /profiles/hours. Sorry about that. Let me know if this helps.

Hi sydlow

Thank you very much for your help. For the second part of my question, disconnecting a user once they hit there limit, is there a script that would do the job or can I use a script for that matter.
