Nortel VPN 1750 and branch offices not connecting

Hello everyone,

I have a Nortel 1600 VPN and copied the configuration to the 1750 that we have. I did change IPs on the 1750 after the copy.

I also added a new branch to the 1750 that was not yet on the 1600.

My issue is this...none of the branches want to connect. They are all enabled but they will not connect.

Am I missing a checkbox somewhere?

You need to check the event log to find out why the BOTs aren't coming up. What are the messages there?

The most common cause of this that I've seen is the "Shared Key" is not the same at each end of the connection. They are case sensitive. Change them at each end and see if it works.

I had an old 1500 that I copied the config from and put in onto a new 1740. Branch connections did not work. Had to delete & recreate them before they worked.
