I have an Opt 81 and we have it interfaced with Cisco VOIP. The system has been working great, then all of a sudden we can't make calls from Nortel to Cisco, all calls go to the Operator.I have found that the only way to get around this problem is to change the TGAR to 8 on the Nortel ext. then the call will go through.Anybody have any ideas what has changed to make this happen.
Thanks Mike Patti

TARG set 01

Thanks for the help Mike Patti

When you build a route or a phone, the TARG and TGAR defaults to 1. Might be easier to change the TARG on the route to something other than 1.

it is better to change the tgar that the ncos because you can give undue access of resources to that telephone

Yeah, good point. I think the first question is to figure out what changed to make it stop working in the first place? Did the route get rebuilt, or the phone, and which phones?

don't waste a lot of time trying to find out who made the mistake, targ might have gotten turned on by mistake or during an upgrade etc.. fix it and be glad that you have one more tool in place to fix that problem if you see it again.

I tried the suggestions given and still no luck,I did some testing and found out that if you dial the ACOD and don't have a TGAR of 8 it also goes straight to the operator.Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the help Mike Patti

Tried that, still no good I think I will out route and re build and see if that takes care of problem.

Thanks for the help Mike Patti

Thanks for everyones help, I rebuilt the route and trunks exactly the way they were before and everything works fine I'm not sure this wasn't a Cisco problem.

Thanks for the help Mike Patti

Do you have trunk group busy keys programmed on a 2250 as these will block tgars below 8 when activated

good point, those are great keys to remove, what was nortel thinking?
