I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this post, but I have a question in regards to the nortel TAPI driver.

One of my clients (which is a call center) uses a nortel phone system to dial out there calls. All they have to do is go into their propriatary app. and press the F2 button and their phones will automatically dial the number that is one their screen.

I'm having a problem finding the nortel TAPI driver to install on the systems to allow to automatically dial. When I launch the program I get a CTI error.

This is a new client of mine and their IT admin just picked up and left with no notes. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have Symposium TAPI-server installed on your network? If so you need to initialize a communication from your clietn to your TAPI-server to enable TAPI.

On the command window type: tcmsetup /c <tapiserver>. Hit Enter. Reboot client after you get the message that TAPI client is set up successfully. Remember to assign the user (logon-id) to the selected Meridian-phone on your TAPI-server.

I do type the tcmsetp /c servername in the command prompt and get a message stating that it was succesful. I reboot and I can not get a connection.

I am using users that are already setup on other workstations. I running windows 98se with all the updates.

I can't even get the extension to showup in phone dialer. I have to be missing something.

What rls. of TAPI are you running?
What about the licenses in TAPI - have you reach the limit?

I'm using windows 2000 and I believe the TAPI version is 2.14

I don't really know a whole lot about TAPI.

I think I have reached my licsenes. How do I find out how many I have and is there anyway to free up ones that aren't being used anymore?

I go into mmc and open up Telephony, I see norstar TAPI service provider, right click and choose configure provider. Then it brings up a small window. It has a register button and if I click on it, it tells me I have 76 licenses. I know that I'm not using 76 licenses because there is only 15 end users that use this. The only thing I can think of is that maybe once a pc is cycled out and it is replaced with a new one it doesn't automatically release it's lisence.

Any help would be most appreciated.
