Dear IT gurus:

I need your professional guidance and help installing the below listed Meridian/Nortel phone system:

Meridian M8X24-DS M0X16
SP: 30MUL11
RTP: 30GBG03
Hybrid Template
DR5

I am a retired SBC installer employee of 37 years and I do know a little about phones & systems.

I have been hired to transfer this system to a new office. The system has been unplugged for about 3 months or longer and has apparently lost all programming. The system worked perfectly prior to disconnection.

I am having difficulty getting the five (5 dedicated) lines programmed into the system. I am using a M7324 attendants phone to program from. All I can get to work is line #1, even when I change the wires on the block. The other lines ( 2 through 6) are empty, blank, or just plain dead. I cannot even get line one to ring, just a dial tone when picked up.

I personally think I am having Port, Module, or Wiring problem. Diagnostic test displayed 100-02 (which is stated in the manual).

I have read and re-read this 600 page manual till I am blue in the face. I guess I am just missing something simple and need a little push in my old age! I think I have just seen toooooo many wires in my years of service.

Any advice or assistance appreciated especially from you Nortel gurus…!!!

Thanks a bunch to all who respond…..!!!

Hey RingKing, you have probably earned that name.
You mentioned Hybrid Template, and that rings a bell that it only assigns one line, only rings at 221 and it puts 8 lines in a pool.
I suggest doing a new startup using the SQUARE template to see if you at least get the first 2 lines on sets. It will be easy to adjust everything that you need later.
Power off then power back on before doing the startup, if you decide to follow this route. Will be glad to help.
I'm in the SBC area.
