I have a customer with a Nortel Option 11C Rls 25.30 with a AC Power Main Cabinet and One Expansion Cabinet - and are receiving BSD 090 Expansion Cabinet Messages every so often however there seems to be no problems with hardware or software and the only other messages received after the BSD 090 Message is a power supply message that states the Expansion Cabinet Power Supply battery and ground is OK.

The power supply in the Main and Expansion Cabinets were recently changed.

The PBX is powered by a dedicated AC outlet with an isolated ground and there is a new Battery Backup that was replaced a few months back.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

In my experience, I've had to change out the Fibre cable. The last thing that I would have expected to do!. One way to check is to take off the cabinet casings and dim the lights in the room. Look for any sign of light leaking from the cable run from the SSC to the expansion cabinet. Also look to see that the connections are secure and that the Fibre isn't caught or bent in the trunking.

I've changed two Fibre cables that had the BSD errors, but I also had other problems such as M390x phones showing a different language etc.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Yep, fiber cable, fiber daughter board or fiber receiver. One of the 3 is your culprit.

Will be changing the Fiber Cable out first and then see what happens.

Thank you!

Changed out the Fiber Cable and the Fiber Receiver Card and the PBX seems to be happy.

Thanks to all for your support!
