Do you have to power down the Option 11C to remove the MMail Card?

No. Just make sure to disable the AML link and power mmail off by the face plate switch.

you do if it's one of the new and improved no face plate power switch..

As long as you disable the AML link which only stops errors that the AML link is down and disable the card disc 10 in either ld 20 or load 32 you do not have to power off the switch, regardless if it has a power switch or not. However the caveat is if you do not have the card disabled it will INI the switch.

I actually just had to do this tonight. I have an older card without the power switch (I am guessing by what's above). I disabled the AML link. Then I pressed the reset button on the front of my mermail card. Whent he Act light when off I removed the card, no INI of the switch. I did it this way since I wasn't able to disable the card, when attempted they system says the card is UNEQ. Also started getting CSA0001 errors:

.stat aml

AML: 09 ESDI: 09 DES: MERIDIANMAIL
LYR2: DISABLED LYR7: DOWN DSBL
.
CSA001 9 23:46:30 16/08/2005 4

How do I stop the errors now, reboot the switch?

The CSA001 errors are normal. It deals with a polling timeout. If you are not re-installing mermail take it out of the database, out TN's, VSID, AML, and LSL.
