Good Afternoon All.

Hopefully someone can provide direction on this issue. I'm not a phone expert and we just inherit a Nortel Option 11 PBX at this one site.

We're having a strange issue. Extensions that were working configured previously and that were working properly all of a sudden stopped working. Also the phones at these extension have not dial tone. It's just like they port configuration got cleared from these extensions.

We hired a someone to fix the issue and explained to us he checked the system logs and didn't find any config changes on the system and that probably happen there was some sort of outage that caused the ports to be disabled.

Is this accurate information? Does the Nortel have these types of mechanisms to protect the cards?

I juts want to make sure nobody is making changes to the system or that we have an issue with the PBX.

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you have LD 30 in the Midnite Routines and the phones are unplugged the switch will disable them

What type of phones are you using?

If they are just disabled by midnights you should still see the current date and time on them.

Thanks all for your replies. Your help is appreciated.

We have M3900 phones. Can this disable feature be turned off?

This is driving us crazy. The same issue just happened again. This is the third time in two weeks. Random extensions stop working all of a sudden. We call the people that help us administer the PBX and fix the issue, but I can't afford to be paying them every time this happens.

Sorry guys, I'm not an expert on phone systems or Nortel. Do you guys have any suggestions on how I can get to the bottom of this? Check system logs, status changes, etc? Can the PBX be access via web? I have the Level 1 credentials.

I juts want to know what is triggering this situation.

Thanks again.

You will need to take LD 30 out of the Midnight Routine

That will be easier than putting FLXA in each of the CLS

Thanks for the reply PERRYPJ. I appreciate it. I'll give that a shot.

Please clarify - are the Ports actually being disabled. You can confirm this by using the STAT command in LD 32. Do you know how to use the Stat and Enable commands?

Its is fairly simply to re-enable these disabled extensions, there isnt any need to pay a third party. Do you have access to the switch?

if you have the extension then go to

ld 20
prt
dnb
0
enter extension number

this will now give you the TN.

Then

ld 20
enlu (12- 02) or whatever the TN is.

After that you can type stat 12 02, and then will tell you that the extemsion is now working and enabled by sending you the serial number and model number of the phone.

basically 2 -3 command should get the extension working again.

Thanks
