I have an Opt 11c RLS 18.30. We have a straight T-1 with 24 voice channels. I am getting clocking errors and we surpass our threshold and the system drops. I have replaced the T-1 card and clock controller and the same thing occurs. I had an Adtran T1 ESF CSU Ace connected for years and I replaced it with an Adtran TSU 120, this way I could tell if the alarms were PBX or telco related. It appears to be my PBX. the telco says I am 180 off and I do not know how to correct this. My clock is at primary, the telco and I are matched on framing and codeing. What I get is BPV, CRC and LOSFA errors when I stat my T-1 in LD 60. I have been battling this for a week. I went to a 2nd level support group, and I think there lost. Any suggestions?
Thank you
Joe

ld 60 shows my clock locked to slot 2, pref -2, sref - free run, auto swref clk no errors

If your getting CRC errors I would see if both of you are set to the same line code AMI or B8ZS and I would not take the word of either your local telco or the T1 provider. Get yourself a TBERD

Check the timing on your Adtran 120. There are settings for network, DSX-1, etc. Check to see that you are set at Base DSX-1. This will allow you to clock to through the CSU to the PBX. Also, make sure you have all 24 channels configured.

I have had a TBERD on site and we both are B8ZS. On the CSU I originaly set it for DSX-1, then moved it to Network. I was the same errors. The other 2 clock options are DTE which it definately does not like and Internal, this gave me frame slips. I have all 24 channels set to DSX-1 on this port. I will change the clocking back to DSX-1 on the Adtran and monitor for awhile.
Thank you

Was this a working T1 or a new install? If it was working do you know of anything that happened out of the ordinary at the site when you started having problems. I have seen clocking issues if the T1 cable is to close to a heavy power source.

make sure that the Adtran 120 is set to pass-thru mode on the clocking, not sure about the 120 but i have had adtran's attempt to provide clock, helpful on a point to point data ckt but killer on a switch.. your not 180 out if your t's up, i assume your t is not set to net or it would never stay up, with the t in the usr mode and clocking off of slot 2, you should be safe, yon and the co, are both on the line code, unless the co is in the same building your not going to bring a span up b8zs on one end and ami on the other... a bad card in the middle somewhere can have a bad setting and cause drift.. request a vendor meet, your vendor, your provider, and you... it's your dollar, make them fix it or build you a new ckt... i have had it done

If you are getting BPV, CRC and LOSFA it doesn't sound like timeing. Are you getting any SLIPD or SLIPR errors. I would try a loop back plug, this only sends the transmit to the receive. Attach it in place of the CSU/DSU and enable the span. Let it run for a little and see if you take any errors. Then move it to where the csu/dsu plugges into the smart jack and do it again. Sounds more like a Telco issue.

Even though it sounds odd to say- recheck your grounds.

I am not receiving any slips. I beleive I will go back on site and try a loopback plug and also double check my cable. Thank you

We have similar problems when one portion of the telco network is not optioned correctly. We request round robin testing from NIU to NIU and then ask them to extend CSU to CSU. Generally this will show one point (out of several) that is not optioned properly. Just an idea.
