Does anyone know how to reboot a Nortel option 11 switch? The lines are down in the system and needs rebooted. I've never messed with one of these systems before.

Thanks

Have you opened tickets with the telco?

It is unusual (but not unheard of) to need a reboot to bring the lines back up.

This is the thing, AT&T usually takes care of this system. They have called AT&T to report a ticket and nobody has shown up to fix the issue. The customer has had this issue before in the past and AT&T has done a switch reset on the system to fix it. The lines have not worked since the weekend and they need lines back up today.

I would assume they have tested and have a good idea of where the issue is, which is why they reported it to the Telco side. The issue the Telco side have could be anywhere in their system, the C.O., the lines between, repeaters etc, not necessarily in your building. I would talk to the PBX side of AT&T and ask them for updates and tell them this is service affecting and you want updates every hour until its fixed.

Personally as it's an Option 11 system, Get the customer to take the cover off and press the Init Man button on the SSC card first to make the phone system do a warm start. You can also get them to watch the LED's on the PRI card to see if they turn Green?. Failing that, it's a power reset assuming that no other option is available.

All the best
