My question is involving On-Hold Music.

We had an OHP-6000 on-hold music controller for our Nortel Phone System. It simply plugged into a power outlet and there is an audio cord running into the phone system that has a phono connector that plugged into the OHP-6000. Not sure what happened, but the OHP-6000 decided to stop working and won't even turn on. I'm not too worried about the device. My question is, is there a certain OHM that is required by the Nortel Phone System for on-hold music?

We have our company server in the same room as the phone system. I'm hoping that I can possibly get a phono to 3.5mm converter and just plug into the sound card of our server to playback messages/music for on-hold. Is that possible?

I'm not expert on Nortel Phone Systems, nor am I an expert on audio frequency.

Will 0.25V RMS at 3500 Ohms be able to use that coming out of a standard audio card in a PC?

That's a question for electronics pro, find out what sound card and specs it has and figure it out or ask the electronics pro's.
