Nortel NTDW84CA IP Softphone 2050 Upgrade User License

Hello Team
Does anyone of you have experience with the upgrading of the older 2050 releases 2.0 to something new? like the 4.0?
What is the procedure? we are not going to have a licencing server so we need a node locked system.
How it works? I order the auth code from my distributor and then what? What info is needed from the customer side in order to activate the 2050 lic?

Hello Nikos

You will need to uninstall the original 2050 software and reboot your computer before you apply the later version.

I seem to recall that you need to supply the MAC address of the computer that is going to have the softphone installed on. Be aware that that particular computer might have two MAC addresses, one for the wireless and one for the Ethernet port. I'm fairly certain that you need to use the MAC address from the port that is used the most, usually the wireless one.

You should then be given a file that you have to load into the BCM so that the MAC address will be accepted to allow the 2050 softphone to function correctly.

OK so KRS is involved, is the 2050 release 4.0 license compatible with BCM 4.0?

I've just accessed a BCM 400 system at version 4.0 and I don't see anywhere to import the keycode file. I was looking under the IP Terminals resources area where I think it should be as for the BCM 50 and 450 systems.
