Okay, I'm obviously missing something. After much work and sweat, I finally got the actual VPN to connect to a remote host. (had problems with banner page, etc.) However, when I try to access an IP on their network it times out.

Here's my question. What ports on a Cisco Systems PIX Firewall should I have open for Nortel Contivity to function properly?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you have the Nortel Contivity client, you need to go in the option tab and click on "Disable Keepalive" so it has a check mark beside it. What happens is that, a keep alive packet is sent every minute or so, and if your PC is busy doing something else the keep alive packet does not get a reply from the server and thinks that your tunnel is down, and proceeds to tear the session down. This worked with alot of home users with DSL and cable access.

Good luck

Hmm, they already are. Any other thoughts?

Open up UDP port 500 to either the vpn appliance you are trying to get to, or if the vpn switch is sitting behind a firewall, the firewalls IP.
