I need to replace the receptionists' telephone and it has two modules attached to it. I am using a new telephone that is identical to the one currently being used. When replacing the telephone the system is giving us an add on error when we attached the modules to the new telephone. It is my understanding that this should not be happening. Have I missed some programming?

No the add on mods are pretty much plug and play, check that the connection cable punched down completely into the 7316.
