I have a norstar with 2 pri cards (6.1) PRI A is PSTN, PRI B is tie line to Asterisk. I can dial extension from each switch.
My problem is that when I dial a outside number from the Asterisk ( I am sending a 9 as the lead number) the norstar does not seem to route that to PRI A. The destination code is 9 on the Norstar.

My question is does the Norstar not see the recived digit 9 and route accordly or must I setup some kind of incoming route pattern?

I would really appreciate help, I'm kind of stumped. I am trying to stay away from E&M because of the need to send caller id across the network. Thanks in advance Manny

In Asterisk, extensions.conf, in the context that you are usin g for the external calls, you have to comment out (;) "ignorepath 9".
Very probably * is swallowing the 9. I have not done Norstar networking with Pri, but with plain T1 works great.
You can also turn debug on in the * box to see what goes out, or vi the CDR log files cd /var/log/asterisk/cdr-csv
vi Master.csv
Let us know how it goes. I have Norstars, Opt11, * and Cisco in the bench, and I would like to know the outcome / help make it happen.

I think you will have to enable the remote calling packages in the norstar to allow the incoming (PRI-B) trunk to have access to and dial out on the telco lines (PRI-A)

I'll go 100% with that. Thanks Jerry for the refresher course.
System programming ->remote access ->remote packages->package 1-> allow pools to be accessed
Then, in the same section (and am not sure about this) lines of pri b assign to package 1.

Thanks for the input guys, but I ried all that. To update you, I set Remote Pacakages (04) on both PRI's,I adjusted the Public dn and private dn's. I have set up a auto dn, I have sent the norstar a 9, two 9's, no 9, and for kicks an 8. All that and still no luck.

I can dial extensions from both PBX , I get caller id, but that is it.

When I changed the PRI to E&M it works fine but no calling id and routing the DID's from the telco thru Norstar to the Asterisk is quite clumsy.

So I give up, I have order a second digium PRI card I will use tha Asterisk in front of the Norstar and have total control of what I recieve and send.Basically I will use the MICS as a cheap MCK device.

I am fed up with the Norstar and BCM systems, Avaya Definity, Magix and IP Office would have allow me to do all what I needed.

Thank you all for you help.

Manny
