I got a NAM system second-hand on the internet which was supposedly in good working order and reset to factory default settings. Proceeded to install on an 0 x 32 and when at the customer site, it seemed the system booted up properly (all the proper bells and whistles), so I began programming using Features 983, 903, 981, 985 - all coming up as INACTIVE FEATURE. Am I missing something? Is there a start-up procedure or feature that is new and I don't know about? Any input at this juncture would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, in "Maintenance" in the "Port DN Status" (where I have the two pair punched down), Ports 123 and 124 show CONNECTED TO THE NAM. Again, I've not experienced this in the past that I can recall, so any input here (again) would be much appreciated. I haven't really worked on a NAM in awhile since they've been upgraded to Star Talk, so perhaps I am forgetting something. Also note, I did try the Features 901 and 903 (whichever activates the Features) and I did want to mention that here. Thanks.

NAMS don't use 903 so cancel that out. When a mics sees a nam in maintenance it says mcid. I take it that this is a copper nam? Any chance it was set up as a acd vmail? Try feature 920-923... Make sure that it's connected to working digital ports.

Try xftest to see which feature codes are used, test all the codes and if they come up inactive delete them all and reboot the nam. Then try f983.
