Hi All. I got a call to a MICS with an old Flash for mail. They said they never had the built in Nortel Nancy greeting play after their own greeting. (Press 0 or if you know the parties extension , you may dial it at any time. I think they are mistaken [worm] as they have instructions on how to change the greeting in the AA and its the AA greeting being changed and played.[rockband]

They just want it like an answering machine for day and no ring answering machine at night with night button, only 1 mail box and 1 reception, pretty simple, so they say.

I got the day greeting to work, ,.,. 4 rings and General delivery picks up,.,. but,.,. the night button still goes to the same message in the AA. and gives the same Nortel Nancy greeting.

How do I change the night service to go to general delivery mailbox.

Any help is appreciated, I have to go back next week and finish it

Thank you in advance, I always fix it after help from you.[2thumbsup]

If the general delivery phone rings on incoming calls and has the forwarding to voicemail, just don't use the night service at all, use feature 984 to forward the phone to vmail immediately. Or if you want the phone to ring before going to general delivery in the night service programming the vmail extension will be there (use feature 985 to find out what that is), you have to remove it and just have the extension of the general delivery entered. It will still ring the general delivery extension until the forward no answer sends it to the mailbox.

You could also just go to AA/Lines and tell them not to answer, this way when in Night mode they calls will go straight to the General Mailbox sin AA will not take the call.

Or if you want to keep AA if getting rid of Bioic Betty is fine...
Sounds like they have Greeting # X playing (clients voice) then AA/Table/X/MenuPrompt (bionic betty) plays right after that.
You can change the the AA/Table/X/MenuPrompt to = N then record a second of silence to shut her yapper.
You could reverse this and not record AA/Greetings X and then record the greeting instead in AA/Table/X/MenuPrompt, however you cannot change it remotely if needed like you can with AA/Greetings

So while they probably have the correct instructions to change the greeting under Greetings the Menu Prompt under Table was interfering.

Thankx

984 forwards, Un-forward is 984 again ? or is there another feature code to Un-Forward. Thankx for the Idea phoneguy427.

Exactly Curlycord Greeting # X playing (clients voice) then AA/Table/X/MenuPrompt (bionic betty) plays right after that. Problem is I have AA Answer lines a big fat NO already.

In ring services, do I need to remove Flash DN from group and only have my operator DN.

Thankx guys.I always find the correct answer here.

If you have a two line display, when the phone is forwarded you will have a cancel softkey on the lower line, or you can use Feature #984 to cancel forwarding on a one or two line display, it works on both. Yes, remove the Flash DN from ringing service so the AA doesn't pickup.

I do not think lines ringing at the vmails DN will have any impact but sounds like the system is glitched and may need either reboot, possible a "reinstall" (& program from fresh) or there is a software mismatch between the KSU and the Flashtalk.

If you have the pilot DN for the voicemail in night service, it will answer calls on the first ring. If the voicemail DN itself has lines appear and ring then you are right it will not answer the lines.

Haven't had a chance to go back yet, going back next week, Will post a follow up to tell you what fixed it. Thankx for all your help.

Did you get the software versions of both?
KSU - under D. Maintenance/SoftwareVersion/SPcode
VMAIL - Log into F983 then press 9

And to be sure you looked right:
MICS/SreviceModes/RingingService/Sched:Night/LineSettings/enter your line such as 001, press Show then see note the ring group number....do this for all active lines.
Then go to
MICS/SreviceModes/RingingService/RingGroups/ enter the ring group number/s then press show then press Scan to see what DN's are assigned and remove them.

Also another thought, under Lines on the KSU check to see what DN the Prime Set is, if it is vmails DN then change it to None.

F984 doesn't work with the Flash voicemail, only on the NAM and Call Pilot.

Use F985 to figure out the DN of the voicemail, then use F4 + DN to forward calls and F#4 to cancel.

OP figured it out already...

"How I worked around it
Feature 4 then to VM DN
Un forward in the morning"

Poor 984...nobody wants it!
Was Change time
Then ACD login
Now forward to mail.
