Nortel Merdian PBX and VM - Call goes directly to VM when on phone. 1

I have a Primary extension 2225 on Key 0, and Secondary extension 2625 on Key 02. If the person is talking on extension 2225 and someone calls extension 2225 the call goes directly into VM instead of rolling over to the secondary extension (2625). Please help me..

First of all, what is on key 1?

Secondly, make sure your LHK (Last Hunt Key) is set to 2.

I moved the secondary extension to Key 01 and changed LHK to 1. That fixed the problem. Thanks everyone.

change Hunt value to

Hunt 2625

You could change the Hunt to 2625 but then the call would never get to voice mail if the phone is busy. If you leave the Hunt the way it is (6499) then the call will hunt to 2625 if 2225 is busy. Even though the hunt is a different number the hunt sequence looks at LHK first before the Hunt number. The call will hunt all the way up the keystrip to the LHK (last hunt key) provided the keys are all DNs. If there are blank or feature keys the LHK stops and looks at the Hunt. If both key 0 and key 1 are DNs and they are busy then the call will hunt to voice mail with LHK 1. This may sound complicated but if you go through this post one sentence at a time it could all come out clear.

Why do you have the second extension on key 2. Try moving it to key.
