Cisco claim to be better then Nortel when it comes to Triple Play Services. Can I be guided about the authentication of this claim? What are the pros and cons of both?

Can you explain what 'Triple Play Services' are?

FWIW - Cisco claim to be better at everything until you have actually purchased and installed their product, then you are stuck with horrible tech support trying to get the stuff working.

Triple Play Services = Voice Video Data

Thats what I am asking. One must come up with solid reasons, and I am searching for the reasons as we are thinking to bring Nortel to replace Cisco in a Large NGN project. Unfortunately, Cisco has strong sales team then Nortel in my country.

To convince an already Cisco educated client, you need some solid reasons rather then a fire in the air. Thanks for the positive response in either case.

For one thing, Cisco uses proprietary hardware and software in their systems. Avaya (nortel) is committed to using open source standards in their solutions.

If you buy cisco, you will be locked into their system.

If you buy Avaya, then you will be able to interoperate, and integrate with 3rd party applications and devices, allowing you more control in the end.
