Nortel M7100 Telephone Question

Hi,

I was wondering what is the port that has a bell shape icon on the back of a M7100 used for? I was thinking maybe it could be used for a external bell or external alert device... If so does it require any programing from the phone or the BCM50 or is it plug and play.

I could not find any info on it.

You think right!

If you use an "Algo" Ringer on that port or headset port on all the others then they say to keep the cable between it and the ringer no longer than 15 feet.
