I am trouble shooting a issue on a PBX with PRI.IFC is setup for ESS5. Customer says nothing has changed on the Nortel end and also the Avaya tech states nothing has changed on the Avaya end.T1 cards have been replaced on both sides. I have programmed new d-channel and new t1 and route. Get same response. d-channel gets established for about 30 seconds and then releases.
Everone states that this has been working , unfortunately history file was set at 1000, yikes bumped up to 50000, original t1 trunks show that this has been programmed back 1 year.I suspect upgrade to avaya.Unfortunately I do not know what version avaya product is.I suggested QSIG programming but need to check out packages. Also may have to program DTI vanilla t1.

Do a forced download to the D channel on the 81 and the MSDL or whatever interface you are using. I have seen this happen in cases where lightning has got in to the line and the resulting surge has scrambled the programming.

any errors on the line? (LCNT)
are all 23+D channels programmed?

what is in between the two PBXs? just a cross over cable? or going through Telco (or other equipment)?
