Hi all !

I tried to upgrade the firmware of a i2007 currently 0621C2D, but the phone look to never understand the file he need to get in the TFTP.

the config file is...

#
# Config file: IP Phone 2007 - version 29
#
# Include the [FW] line only if the phone is already running firmware version 0621C4x or later
VERSION 0621C7D
FILENAME 0621C7D.BIN
PROTOCOL TFTP
SERVER_IP 192.168.0.20
SERVER_PORT 69
SECURITY_MODE 0

On the screen before to proceed i can see all info is correct (screen shoot) but when i access TFTP log i get this...

Connection receied from 192.168.0.60 on port 1025
Read request for file <i2007.cfg>. Mode octet
<i2007.cfg>: sent 1blk, 273 bytes in 0s.
Connection received from 192.168.0.60 on port 1026
Read request fo file <> (None?! it suppose to be 0621C7D.BIN)
error 3 in system call file The system cannot find the path specified

so i don't get why the phone try to request a empty name file...

Any idea ?

Thanks,
Mike

Hello Mike

I have attached the latest 2007 firmware. What type of BCM system are you using with the phone as I usually upload the firmware straight onto the BCM.

Here's what the config file looks like on my TFTP server for my 1230 IP phones. I saw your instructions said not to use [FW], but give it a try. At worst it just won't work.

[FW]
DOWNLOAD_MODE FORCED
VERSION 062AC96
FILENAME 062AC96.bin
PROTOCOL TFTP
SERVER_IP 192.168.1.100
SECURITY_MODE 0

Firebird i have a bcm400 3.7, the bcm reconize the phone as a 2004. all firmware are in .rom the bcm don't reconize .bin

Yes exmogger, the config for my 11xx series are same and work #1!

The reason of the upgrade is i seen few screen shoot on internet that show the i2007 with different skin and icons, i was wondering if
it is like my 1165e the file manager to choose a file for background only appear in 0626C7J firmware, i tought it could be same.

anyway i find it strange that the phone show me he know where to get the update and the file but when reboot for upgrade he don't
know anymore, maybe it's a 2 step upgrade need a first upgrade from unistim.

i will try to work around it, if i find something pertinent i will post it for sure!

Thanks!

Hello Mike

That explains why you are having trouble getting it to work. I guess you saw the guide I did a while ago, but I have never done a firmware change on a 2007 set.

Firebird, very great guide ! Thanks !

Funny i use the same TFTP server, i installed it in the BCM NT4 OS since i unlocked the desktop access, it's very usefull to exploit the windows server side of the bcm.

Exsmogger, you right ! with my search i found out that the first firmware of the i2007 has a programming bug, only an upgrade from the unistim is possible, i don't know the procedure on a cs1000 but on a bcm
there is a way to right click and "FORCE FIRMWARE UPDATE" in element manager and here we go.

I will have to wait to get the bcm450 to see, just sad that i will lose my add-on servers i made on my winnt bcm :( i don't think i can do that on a dedicated linux terminal platform.

Thanks for tips ! :)

Mike, If you want to have the latest firmware, then I know a method that should work by you registering onto my BCM system with your 2007 set.
