I have a Nortel 8x24 DR5.1 system and M0x16 add-on with Flash 2.0 voice mail.

I have 40 lines (221 thru 260). I recently wired 244 to a phone (it was never originally wired, used, or setup) and setup the line assignements in 8x24 and setup a mailbox in Flash. I initallized the mailbox with a new password.

The problem that I am having is I cannot get the call to go to voicemail on this phone number 244. The call just continues to ring at the phone.

Any ideas how to get this to got to voicemail?

Sorry, but I did not understand the words "cfna" "terminals and sets". Could you try to explain that again?

Thank for the help.

If you open up programing in the MICS, you will find the first thing up is terminals and sets, press show, enter set #(244) press show, press next, (capabilities) press show, at this point you should see "Fwd no answer" press show and you will see where it is forwarded to (probably none) change to the flash dn then press next and you will see the amount of rings before it goes there. If you do not know the Flash dn press F985.
Good luck.

You need to set the phone up so it forwards to the voicemail ext . You can
press feature 985 to verify the DN. The programming for this is under capabilities >set capabilities >fwd no ans= vmail dn 4 rings.

Thanks guys. I did as you said, but it still does not go to voicemail. Any more ideas?

Here is more info:

The line is actually 245 (not 244). This means that it is from the M0x16 add-on module because the first 24 lines (221-244) are connected to the 8x24 system.

Also, my Flash has 2-ports (which I believe means it has 4-line capability, two lines per port). Currently, one port is wired to 259 and the other port is wired to 260. Only two lines are currently used for Flash.

I am only using 14 mailboxes, so I am not close to the 24 mailbox limit.

Any more ideas?

It started going to voicemail once I plugged-in a phone.

I had the phone unplugged because it was annoying people when I would call and it would not go to voicemail.

Thanks for the help!
