I have a Nortel ERS-5520 connected to WAN router.
Nortel has 5 routable VLAN's, one of them connected to WAN router.

On WAN router all routes point to IP address assigned to routable VLAN interface on Nortel. Default route on Nortel switch is WAN's interface.
Any thoughts on this?
Is this a right way connecting to WAN?
How should I configure tagging on the Nortel switch port connected to WAN router?

Thats as good a way to do it as any in my opinion. You won't have to do any tagging on the WAN router port unless that router is doing your routing between VLANs as well.

Lets say VLAN 1 is 192.168.1.0/24, VLAN 2 is 192.168.2.0/24 and so on. The WAN router could have an IP of 192.168.1.254 and connect to an access port on VLAN 1. Set your default route to the WAN router IP as you mentioned and you're done.

I agree - this is the ideal way from my point of view.
It keeps your routing simple on your WAN router.
I don't use VLAN tagging on the router unless there is a specific need for it, eg, the router is the only Layer3 device on the network and you need to use it to route between VLANs.
