hi all,

i want to know if the ERS 4500 series support layer 3 routing or not.

Yes, but only static routing, no RIP/OSPF support. You'll need to have the newer versions of code on the device for L3 support.

 
it do not have any routing protocol instead an IP forwarding feature should be enabled in addition to assigning an IP address to each VLAN that it reserved and pingable by that VLAN's can communicate with each other.

note that you can also create a static route same as layer 3 devices.
