I have a Nortel CS1000 system and suddenly some internal extension is repeatedly dialing another extension multiple times throughout the day. When the user of the dialed extension picks up, they just hear our on hold music. Any ideas on where this forwarding is happening? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Look at the display if it has one before you pick up and see who is calling. If that doesn't work do a call trace on the call or enhanced trace. If they are hearing music it could be a conference call initiating by someone else. What types of phones are involved?

It does show x2567 as the calling extension, but that extension is part of a hunt group, not a user extension. Phone models are 2616. The TN of x2567 is 20-0-7-10 which is part of our Octel system if that matters.

sounds like 2567 is a port built for your Voice Mail. have you checked and made sure that you don't have any options in one of your menu's to go to the extension your having issues with.

I'm trying to figure out how to check the tree system inside of Octel to see which extensions are being used. Do you have those steps?
