Nortel CS1000 and Virtual Switchboard

Hi guys,

hope you can answer me this simple question. The new version of CS1000 is it possible to connect a virtual switchboard (a switchboard on a PC) to the PBX? I am rather new in Meridian products so I was just wondering whether or not it was possible?

If it is possible could you mention a product that supports it?

the two products i have installed and setup in the past have been
1 SMILE manufactured by Ascom
2 DATAPULSE

both are software install on a P.C

Ok, do you know whether or not SMILE or the other one works with Nortel CS1000?

Datapulse definitely works with all Succession variants. They also have an IP version.

I suggest you go for an other solution that for me is the best acutely. The solution is a server based SIP console, allowing you to give announcements and to use any ip/digital or analogue phone as switchboard. You will have client software to answer the calls. More information’s you will find on:

The product is called SAMwin.CBC (CBC Computer Based Console). The product is NORTE Lcertified and seems to become the NORTEL IP Operator Console.

These above my favorite as we use them as well on legacy consoles (M2250 and CIU). One I don’t like is the Datapulse Solution. The GUI is not very pretty and it is not realy something I would give to my customers.

Smile will work o the CS1k range but it still connects via a DGTL card in the MG. The datapulse one is similar it connects via a dgtl card to a SIP gateway & then via IP to where ever you have your P.C/ console. The draw back is that you still need to plug a dongle in for the SIP based console

Remember if it doesn't work hit it harder
