Hi,

I am receiving an error on my Nortel communications manager signaling server running 6.0 s/w. There is a critical error which states that "DEV HDA5 is passed 85% and is nearly full with only a numbered amount of space remaining." I have looked at the devices and HDA5 is presently at 92% usage. My question is which are the biggest and most effective files that can be removed from this device? Also I have deleted a bunch of logs files but this has not changed the percentage usage on the device. I am not certain if the files I deleted actually resides on the HDA5 device or one of the other devices. Is there anyway I can access this particular device and then delete the files directly of it?

Any assistance is appreciated.

Jacob

if you use winSCP to get to the system, go to:

/var/opt/nortel/dfotools/pcap to see if there are files there that can be removed.

You can also go to: /var/opt/nortel/patch/sp and see if the SP zip file is still there. If it is, you can delete it.

Thank you John.

I have just removed the files that you have stated and the usage has dropped to 84% clearing the critical, however I would still like to remove some more useless data on there to get some clearance from the 85% mark. Is there any other files that I can possible remove without causing any problems?

sometimes no. How big is the hard drive on the sig server. I had some folks with smaller hard drives and this was always an issue. eventually they just got larger hard drvies. No additional space, just a larger starting point.

Thanks Bc1111 & Janaya.

Actually I have already deleted the old_logs file. I also saw many and large tar.gz and .dif files in the /var/opt/nortel/lhmonitor. My mate told me that I should be able to delete the tar.gz files with no effect on the server's operation. Just need to confirm if this is ok.
