Hello everyone!

I have a customer who's CiCS system is behaving badly every so often. Sometimes they can't make any outgoing calls and their Caller ID doesn't work. When they plug out the system and then plug it back in again everything works fine. I mentioned this to my supplier and he said that it's probably a software problem. The CICS is currently running 2.0 software.

If I replace the existing 2.0 software card and replace it with one that is 4.1 or higher would that solve the problem? And is it as easy as powering down the system, replacing the card, and then performing a startup?

Thanks!

First thing I would do is replace the line card if just one card in the system.
If so what NT number is the card?

Too hard to say "it will fix your issue", you just need to try it....that's part of troubleshooting in this case.
However I would first try doing a Startup and reprogram from scratch as this can sometimes clear glitches.

In the Installer Guide(of the later version software you want to install) look for Upgrade, it will tell you exactly what is required for upgrading the system to that particular version.
So if you want to get the last best software which includes DST then look at the CICS 7.1 Installer Guide.
