I want to start this post by stressing that I am very new to the telecom industry, and as such am not super familiar with a lot of the systems and proper terms. However I have many years experience in I.T/Computer Tech so there is no need to treat me like a total noob.

Now to my problem. The company I am currently working for has a lot of flash cards on hand for Nortel CICS systems that are all holding varied versions of software.

What I have been tasked with doing is finding a card reader/software that will allow me to make copies of the cards so that we can keep one card with each version of the software in our office, and then as we get an order pull the card from the system going out and put the desired software on it.

A basic Google search has only landed me with companies wanting to sell me already programmed cards. I ran across this forum and everyone here seems very knowledgeable. Does anyone know of any reader/software combo that will work for this?

If you need more information please ask, and I will do my best to provide.

I don't believe so, we have cards with each of the version of the software, and we are selling these to customers that already have existing systems that have for whatever reason quit working.

I think you missed his point....by that much! lol.
i.e. you are asking how to illegally copy Nortel product ....which indeed is copyrighted meaning you cannot copy from one to the other.

Not so sure this discussion allowed here.

I can tell this though, the older versions are less megs so they cannot fit the latest software anyway.

As well they are cheap now anyway and not worth the hassle.

Since Nortel does not exist anymore, it should be public domain! And I'm sure Avaya has better things to do, than waste time on old software! I would consider them backup copies for safety. This copyright stuff has gotten way out of hand... It is about time, some of this copyright nonsense gets revised!!
