Hi all

I am trying to enable AA on my Nortel CICS (Telstra Commander NT 40 rebranded).

When I do Feature *831 it says "Denied in Admin"
Feature *832 does the same,.
Feature *833 works - and lets me record the greetings.

When I log in using the installer password (INSTAL) and go in to System Programming > Auto Attendant: It shows Auto attendant as OFF but there is no softkey toggle to turn it ON/OFF.

Any ideas why this is disabled? Is this perhaps programmed this way in the software version?

System Version: SP: 30NuK12 GP4

It sounds like the software does not allow for AA Menu Prompts (P)
Are any of these characters on the software card itself?:

R = Restricted (RES) (4X8 4 Lines 8 stations)
RP = Restricted (RES) (4X8 4 Lines 8 stations), Prompts (AA)
RIP = Restricted (RES) (4X8 4 Lines 16 stations), Irad enabled, Prompts (AA)
S = Standard (8X16 8 Lines 16 stations),also allows for services/expansion card to be added to become 8X24
SP = Standard (8X16 8 Lines 16 stations), Prompts (AA), also allows for services/expansion card to be added to become 8X24
SIP = Standard (8X16 8 Lines 16 stations), Irad enabled, Prompts (AA), also allows for services/expansion card to be added to become 8X24

Thanks for your assistance

My current cart shows:

No update on the other problems (caller ID broken, AA not working, DISA not working).
It seems they could be all caused by software. I might try looking for a new software cartridge on eBay and see if that fixes all the abve issues.

I'll try get my hands on some new software and see if that fixes and report back. Any recommendations on part numbers or websites I can find this on?

I think it's Australia. I'm fairly certain that they (like the UK versions) had their own modified software specific to that country and a number of the features weren't enabled.

Thanks team, yes, Australia. The software is fairly restricted I think. I'm sure most of my issues will be resolved if I can get a new software cartridge.
I gather if I find the right one, it is just plug and play? Any ideas on what part numbers I should be looking for?

Just to be clear I was asking where you were located, not where the KSU is from due to required features needed.
In NA we see the odd KSU from UK or AU.
NA software's would work on the KSU but here is a site for various software's for your region.

I found a # of places when you search as "Commander Nortel NT40"

AU has more BCM50's then Commander equipment, might be a better option as it will help all 3 of your issues.

At least I was correct on the software version. I have very little information on the Australian model except for the attached remote access guide.

Are you able to login to the system OK as I did play with one many moons ago that had a different passcode to the ones we normally use.

Here is something that I had discovered. I have removed the passwords!

TWO EXTRA SPECIALIST FEATURE CODES ADDED ON LATER SOFTWARE

Feature ** PROFILE (7763453) Password = "######" code & it can only used within 15 minutes after a system power-up! It is used to change the global software to a different type i.e. from UK TO Asia software

Profile "A" = United Kingdom "B" = Australia & "C" = Asia?
Extra Info: on Australian setting, F** CONFIG Password = ######

Also Feature ** OPTION (678466) Password = the "DEBUG" Date code setting!

CHANGE
Problem

The problem arises when a call is made to an analog supervised line which has set or line restriction configured. If the local Telephone Exchange (Central Office) releases the call before the line is answered, the Norstar set continues to ring for around 4secs before disconnecting. If the Norstar set goes off hook during this period, the local Telephone Exchange (Central Office) provides the dial tone to the set allowing the user to dial restricted digits on this line resulting in a Toll Fraud situation.

To prevent this from occuring, the Restriction Inco falg (Muting) should be set to Yes under F**OPTION.
