Nortel, change system massage severity

Hi all,

who can i change a severity from System Messages?

Example: i will change the severity from VGW2125 from Critical to Major
Example: i will change the severity from QOS0038 from Info to Major

How can I do that?

The two examples of error codes are shown below

VGW2125

MGC <loop shelf> DSP daughterboard <card #> has un-registered from the
Call Server. Note: This alarm is only applicable to MGC.
1. Check the ELAN connection from MGC and ensure there is activity on
the faceplate port LED (if used).
2. Ensure that MGC is correctly configured on the Call Server.
3. If the problem persists, contact Nortel for assistance.
Severity: Major


QOS0038

Insuficient Bandwidth detected between <zone 1> and <zone 2>

Severity: Info

The status listed against each of the error codes won't change as a different error code should be listed if the status changes.

If you want to change the severity of the alarms I'm pretty sure add entries to the Event Preference Table (EPT) in LD 117.
=> new ept vgw2125 major
=> new ept qos38 major

I think VGW2125 is major by default so you may want to print the EPT to make sure it isn't already there.
