Nortel Gurus,

I have a customer with a 616 and and C6 caller ID box. He says he does not get caller ID on line 5. My question is how many co's does the c6 box support? I was thinking that is only 4 lines which would explain why line 5 does not have caller ID.

It is also worth making sure the cable tail is correctly bridge tapped to the CO lines. The color codes are in the FAQ section. This came up once before, and after much back-and-forth, it turned out that the C6 had not been corrected attached.

It is also worth checking programming to be sure that the main/prime set where the other caller id appears is programmed to have caller id appear there for line 5. I believe a 616 will only present caller id automatically to one station (that you designate in programming by line) and all others have to F811 to get it.

Installer Card:

Last, but not least, toss a butt set on the line 5 at the demarc and ensure CLASS tones are being sent.

Thanks curly and missed. That should be enough info to fix the problem
