Hi, I have a nortel release 5.0 bcm50 system, it’s used and I don’t have the login information. I tried to do a level 1 reset where it erases all previous costumer data but still doesn’t seem to work. When the system initializes the bottom power status light is green and the top nortel logo one is red. When I hit the reset button it just reboots and goes back to it’s Normal state which I still can’t login to the Element manager. But when I have a digital set hooked up and tried to login from there it would just say access denied.
Any Help?
Thanks.

The Level 1 or 2 reset method changed at release 5 onwards. You need to do a search and contact those people who are able to point you in the right direction. At release 5 and 6, a copy of the keycode should exist on the motherboard, but be careful that you don't erase it.

If you aren't bothered about any configuration, and that you can get hold of a 80 gig hard disk, then you can install the release 5 software onto it and insert it into the BCM 50 to log in with default details.

The attached file should help.

It's also good time to also upgrade it to R6 (yes still possible) because it's much easier on a lab rat than a live system.
