Greetings fellow phone men. I'm really in a jam right now with one of my Nortel customers who is experiencing a loss of call volume on conference calls and trunk to trunk transferred calls. Of course Verizon and AT&T are both blaming the telephone equipment. Is there a fix for this? Is there any way to turn up the call volume? They are experiencing a 75% loss of volume on calls transferred from Baltimore to Michigan. Calls transferred from Michigan to Baltimore work fine which leads me to believe that the problem is in the phone system.

PRI or analog trunks? I have always had the described trouble with analg trunks, on all my systems.

Have your customer switch to PRI or use the Telco conference.
When conferencing 2 analog trunks both far-end users will experience low volume.

Thanks curlycord and gberger. I know that feat 71 works for conference using the telco line - no loss of volume. Is there anyway to do a trunk to trunk transfer using the telco? When I try to use feat71 for trunk to trunk it hangs up the call.

Thanks Curly. Feature 71 works great. You can't hang up but you can put the call on hold and leave the other two parties connected. Not as seamless as trunk to trunk transfer, but it'll work.

I tried it and it will disconnect the other two calls if you hang up.
