Hi,

Please advice me for below issue in our Hotel.

Our Guest not able to access Internet & it's down totally.

For your overview
We have 2 divided net works
1 is for admin use and 1 is for guest use.

We have 2 Internet busyness connections.
Admin (Internet) Network : 192.168.200 series
Guest (Internet) Network : 172.16.0 series

Both internet connection going to Nortel baystack 425 core switch and distributing (VLAN)from this switch to Admin Internet and guest Internet networks.

Now the issue is Guest network down totally and admin network releasing DHCP of guest network 172.0 series.

Your immediate help is highly appreciates..

Waiting for your valuable reply..

Asif

Are hosts on the Guest network getting a DHCP address?
Can hosts on the Guest network ping their default GW?

Are hosts on the Admin network getting a DHCP address?

What is the default route on the 425 switch?
Can the 425 switch ping the target of its default route?

What is the device that is the target of the 425's default route?
Does that device have routes for the Guest and Admin subnets?

Sounds like an issue with your router. I assume that it is providing the DHCP addresses for the networks.

I would check that the server scope is setup correctly and that both vlans are tagged on the link to the 425 switch. Also check on the 425 that both vlans are tagged on the link to the router.
