I was wondering if someone could help me please or if I posted this in the wrong section, please let me know.

I am working on a Auto Attendant using Feature 983. I enter 102000 because we use 3 digit extensions. I am able to record the greeting and play the greeting. The greeting is set to play for all times and each option that I am checking shows the correct greeting.

However, when I call the main number, the correct greeting comes on after X number of rings but the old message will play directly after the new greeting twice. Can someone help me with this please and give me any options that it may be? I am not a familiar with this phone system as I am with others.

Someone mentioned that I checked out the Line admin or CCR tree. If this is the case, what would I be looking for when imputing this information from the phone because this is all I have and no GUI interface.

Thanks,
Derek

3 places to record main greetings:
AA/GRTG/GRTG/ and choice of number
AA/TABLE/1/MENU PROMPT
CCR/TREE/1/PATH 0

Check the middle one first, if not CCR

I know the first option you stated has all the correct greetings that I have recorded. I can check the other two locations. If the other two have the same greeting, where would I proceed from there. I will be driving to the location now. Hopefully you would have responded by then.

AA/GRTG/GRTG/ and choice of number - Plays the prompt I recorded

AA/TABLE/1/MENU PROMPT - Plays the prompt I recorded

CCR/TREE/1/PATH 0 - Is not enabled and no recording is set to it.

I attempted to call back and after the set # of rings; the message I recorded came on and as soon as the message went off, the older message came on and started to play. Is there a chance the second message could be an alternate message or something like that? I am drawing a blank to be honest.

I did one recording and it is playing on all the options that I can find including the ones above you asked me to check.

The 2nd recording that is playing is the aa menu prompt which always comes on and plays after the main greeting unless you record a silence in place of" press pound for a directory or zero for the operator". Some folks like to record a aa menu prompt for a directory of extensions. I usually just record 1 second of silence.

Example

AA GRTG will always play first, then MENU PROMPT or CCR will kick in afterwards.

You need to change/erase ones of the 3 I posted and like Fonegal is stating its most likely that one.

You should probably be calling in a tech for an hour session on admin programming.

How would I get to the others options to erase or change them? I have gotten pretty familiar with the options from the phone. Thank you everyone for the helping resolve this.

Curlycord, we will be converting these sites slowly to a Cisco based VOIP system but I am trying to do everything I can to help them before the conversion begins.

Pretty much how I had it but will revise a little:

AA/TABLE/1/MENU PROMPT/CHANGE(or Yes maybe)/RECORD

CCR
You must first disable CCR tree (unless no calls inbound), AA/TABLE/1/CCR/DISABLE (press 1 to re-enable when you go back to this part)
OTHER/CCR/ADMIN/TREE/1/PATH 0

Sounds good. I will be trying this fix on Monday and I will keep you guys updated. Thank you for everything so far.

AA/TABLE/1/MENU PROMPT/CHANGE(or Yes maybe)/RECORD

I am presented with AA/TABLE/1/CHANGE/MORNING/AFTERNOON/EVENING/NON-BUSINESS - All of these recordings are set to the recording.

AA/TABLE/1/CCR/DISABLE (press 1 to re-enable when you go back to this part)OTHER/CCR/ADMIN/TREE/1/PATH 0

I do not have that route, I get to CCR through the main menu

FEATURE 983/ 102000/MBOX,AA,OTHR,GLIST,CCR/ADMIN/TREE/1/ENABLED/CHG,PRINT,QUIT. I hit CHANGE, then record the message
When I end everything, and call into the number, it plays the message I record and then plays the old message directly after it.

Any other things it could be or should I just end up calling someone. These units are not under contract so is a fend for yourself kind of deal.

Yes you program CCR from OTHER/CCR but first you must disable the CCR in TABLE/1....

If you call a tech in they could resolve this in seconds and you would learn where to record what where and how it all connects, minor admin training.

Also what BCM and what version are we talking about? you need to include when posting.
Early release of BCM 50 had a bug where greetings where played twice and fixed with a patch.
