Please correct me if i am wrong, ers 5500s needs advanced licensing to enable smlt, vrrp, ospf, etc, whereas ers 1600s does not need any licensing to enable smlt, vrrp, ospf, etc. Have downloaded "converged data networks licensing guide" says nothing about 1600s licensing. Thanks.
 
There isn't any licensing needed on the 1600 series gear for SMLT, VRRP, etc.

I think the 1600 series stuff has gone MD though. I did SMLT and VRRP on 1648's once. That was enough. Seems much more reliable on the 5500's.
