can I set a ring type on one incoming line that is different from the other lines at various sets on dr3

No. You can only change the ring type for that set only. CO lines and the intercom use the same ring type. Distinctive ringing is not available at all on the 824. It is only available on ICS 6.1 & higher.

Workaround- set up a 7100 to ring with that line only in a central location, then use f*6 to change the ring style. Users can press Pickup, or hit the line appearance on their sets to grab the call.
