We are seeing several error codes that deal with our phone switch and its network connections. We know from past experience that if left on the network, the switch will eventually crash. So we disconnected our switch from our network. But with no network connection, our OTM is useless and daily phone records and related data are lost. When the switch is removed from the network, these codes go away. The codes are below. Any ideas? Thanks!

Do a stat health in ld 135. Post it here. I believe that there is a xover cable needed when the switch is not connected to the network. I have always just used a cheap hub and connected to that.

a couple of things....

thats a normal message if you swapped cores...and if you kill the LAN 1 connection on the active core it will swap cores because you knocked the health count down to less then what the off line core was/is.

Here is how the health works, Each core has active components such as CNI,Ethernet,IP,SUTL etc....each device has a Number count, CNI for example is 2, So when you see for example a total overall health of say 30, you must have 30 on each Core or you would not be able to swap cores via LD135 SCPU, the system will alway look to run on the core with the highest health count.

LAN 1 is you connection to you Layer 2/3 switch or hub, LAN 2 is you HSP High speed Pipe, this is how the cores talk to each other.
the STAT HEALTH in LD 135 will show you the count on each core. I have seen bad Lan cables, bad swith ports cause your issue.
Also, make sure you have valid IP on the secondary_ip in ld 117, do a prt elnk...the default is .253 and the secondary is .254, if you have routable IP's from you network, then obviously it will be different, you should be able to ping both.

here is an example:

=> stat host
*** Active Internet Host Table ***
ID Hostname IP Address
-- localhost 127.0.0.1
-- host 0.0.0.0
1 SECONDARY_ENET 137.135.128.254
2 LOCAL_PPP_IF 137.135.192.4
3 REMOTE_PPP_IF 100.1.1.1
4 PRIMARY 148.165.109.228
5 SECONDARY 148.165.109.229

=> prt host
ID Hostname IP Address
1 SECONDARY_ENET 137.135.128.254
2 LOCAL_PPP_IF 137.135.192.4
3 REMOTE_PPP_IF 100.1.1.1
4 PRIMARY 148.165.109.228
5 SECONDARY 148.165.109.229
OK

=> prt elnk
ACTIVE ETHERNET: "PRIMARY" "148.165.109.228"
INACTIVE ETHERNET: "SECONDARY_ENET" "137.135.128.254" This is wrong,you should have "SECONDARY" AS THE INACTIVE IP.
OK

=> chg elnk inactive secondary
INET Database updated

=>

prt elnk
ACTIVE ETHERNET: "PRIMARY" "148.165.109.228"
INACTIVE ETHERNET: "SECONDARY" "148.165.109.229"
OK

So if you unplug a LAN 1 connection on the Active core, it will swap cores, this looks like what happend in you situation, But if your system crashes while on the Network, I suspect your LAN 1 connections may be being bombarded by broadcast messages. Make sure you ELAN IP's are not in a Broadcast domain, put them in a VLAN...so callpilot ELAN and Cores are isolated.
