I have a BCM 50 3.0 and a nortel 6120 WLAN handset from the bcm I can ping my access points but my handset will not connect to the network.
This bcm is networked with a bcm 400 across the the same network with ip trunking between to 2 I have keycodes for ip sets in both bcm's and have ip sets working on both and I have 1 unused lic. on the bcm 50.
My question is there anything else needed another keycode or something to make a wlan set work with the bcm or is this just a setting in the handset?

I have never installed these because they seem like too much of a hassle. I usually go with a Digital Mobility solution.

But from what I have heard, you need Nortel WLAN 2300 series AP's as well as a Nortel Security Switch and Nortel Telephony Manager (which is also a switch I believe)

Can anyone confirm that is correct?

I just recently installed some 6120 handsets on a BCM 3.0 and you will need the 2245 telephony manager. Initial configuration is a pain but after that they seem to work quite well.

Thanks guys I thought the telephoney manager was in key but wasn't sure

Thanks again

I am having issues with my BCM50 3.0 and have the WLAN 2245 as well as 3-6120 phones.
I am unable to sync the phones with the BCM 50.
Can you assist. What did you do to make the handsets sync with the BCM?
I receive the following error on the 6120 Phones:
“No SVP Server”
Manual translates this message to mean: Wireless handset cannot locate WLAN IP Telephony Manager 2245. The IP address and/or configuration of WLAN IP Telephony Manager 2245 are wrong or missing. WLAN IP Telephony Manager2245 is not working.

whit the firware 115.022 (r3) you can chouse in the configuration the option in qos svp or wifi standar
your ap must have the option wmm in the qos config
i find the best ap have this option

I had the same issue when I set up some 6120's you probably
need to upgrade the firmware in the handsets and the 2245 once I did that they came right up.

The WLAN 6120 Handsets were just shipped from Nortel with a build date of May-2009, as well as the WLAN Telephony Manager 2245. Do these devices not have the current firmware when shipped?
Where can I find a copy of the necessary firmware for both the WLAN 6120's and WLAN Telephony Manager 2245?

Additionally, does anyone have any programming notes on setting the WLAN 6120's uo with Cisco Access Points?

I have the Nortel Installation and Programming Manual for both and have verifie the seetings are correct, as per the manuals instruction.

I am unable to locate the usb river for my laptop to communicate with the dual slot charger.
I have found all the other necessary literature, Handset Administration Tool Software, but cannot find the darn usb driver that my laptop needs to communicate.

Anyone have any suggestions?

The USB driver is bundled with the handset administration tool which can be downloaded from Nortel's site. It should be called slnkusb.sys or something like that.
