Nortel 3x8 Power Supply Large Buzz??

Hello All,

One of my clients called and stated their 3x8 Power Supply was making a large buzzing noise. We shipped out another power supply to the customer and they plugged it in, this seemed to fix the issue for 3-4 hours but they later called back to state this new power supply is making the same noise.

I will head to site personally tomorrow, but I'm curious has anyone else experienced this?
I'm questioning if the noise is actually coming from the power supply rather then the system itself?

Any thoughts until then would be appreciated.

I'd say the noise is coming from the power supply as many of the original Nortel ones are getting to be 10-20 years old. You can get new replacements from Refurb Supplies in Maine or Dynamic Voice & Data in Texas.

Might also be a battery back-up unit does the customer know the difference?

Startalk Mini voice mails make a noise when the hard drive is going as well.
