I have a Nortel 3x8 system and the the phones just stopped working (no lights or indicators). I have unplugged / plugged power supply several times. I have disconnected all sets. The power light comes on, but it is RED. Can't remember if it was always red or if this is a trouble indicator (Green is normal?). Have seen posts suggesting power supply issues... want to make sure / know if this it the correct route to go before purchasing a new power supply. Any other troubleshooting tips?

Thanks

It just red or green not both.

If sets show no time and date (all blank then PS, AMP connector or Motherboard is fried)

Could be the power supply if it lost it's jam but first make sure the amp cable is in tight behind that velcro strap.

If the PS (NT5B05DU) does not help then time for the dump.

Thanks.... AMP connector secure... no displays on phones at all. Will try a new PS.

Try a quick meter and load check:

1 +15V
2 no connection
3 GND
4 +5V
5 GND

outputs: 5VAC, 0.8A & 15VAC, 0.5A.

Is the 3x8 the same power supply as the startalk mini?

Thank you. Most kind.

Just as a footnote, I recall that some years ago exsmogger pointed out that if the MINI has a BT badge, it will likely take the 5-pin DIN round power supply, same as a flash, that pins as, 600ma: 1..24VAC, 2..Ground, 3..24VAC, 4 and 5 not used.
